$50. #30 of 35 acquired recently. Wow, as I write this, silver has risen to $76.33/oz and cull Morgans have a melt value of $59.09. How far and fast will this go? Back to grading. Thoughts? Thanks!

I'll say MS-62. There's quite a bit of bag marks.

This one has nice original luster. It's a typical 1898-O strike, with fairly normal bagginess. I'm only seeing three deep dings on the obverse: a nose nick, a deep gouge in the hair behind the ear, and the edge gash on the upper neck. On the reverse, the only real knock is the gash on the eagle's left leg (our visual right). The other marks look fairly superficial. IMHO, these are fairly consistent with MS-64.

VAM this one. It has a very near date with significant clashing. With the die breaks, maybe VAM-13A?

Carbon/toning spots not great, but I say MS-64

typical above avg strike for this year. nice amount of luster remaining. rev solid MS64. more chatter than I like to see on the obv but she's close. i'll call her MS63+
