Lovely gift your Uncle Barry made to you! Please cherish the coins!

I got my start cos of my Dad. He used to get coins and some notes for me over the years from friends, travels, even his own pennies from his youth.

My favourite memory is when he saw those silver coins especially silver dollars at the auction. He bid and bid and won! Only to discover he bid on a wrong lot without silver dollars. I found out he was getting them for me when I did not ask for them! I got my first Half Dime, Three Cent pieces (silver and nickel), Victorian one shilling from my great grandfather's birth year, etc. cos of him.

Second memory is Dad gave me a brass box with two silver dollars and told me they were from my Grandpa. I should have kept a brass box as it from the 1940's. I still have silver dollars. We would never know why Grandpa kept them? He died when I was 8.

That was and still is my foundation of my coin collection!

Your uncle Barry sounds like he is a great guy!

Happy Holidays, E & V!
