I decided to take it upon myself recently to pursue a continuation of my Liberty or "V" nickel collection. After my Lincoln cents are done in the album filling capacity scenario, I sort of thought I need a new project. I had started it about 6-7 months ago, snatching whatever worn out, recently priced coins I could find. However, I discovered recently that this is one of my favorite coins. I had initially housed them in a blank nickel page at the end of my Buffalo nickels album. However, I decided to show them a bit more love and designated them into their own place for now. My goal is to find all F-XF graded coins if I can, with the exception of the 1885, 1886 and 1912-S dated coins, since they are relatively expensive, being that they are the key dates. This is the first coin. 1883 - no cents Unfortunately, the next ones I have are a bit of a bump date-wise. 1895 - not sure of the grade on this. Plans are to upgrade to XF. 1897 1898 - Will upgrade to XF 1900 - This is one I got recently, if you might recall. Despite being cleaned, this is really nice coin and my personal favorite so far.

1902 - Probably upgrade eventually 1903 - 1904 - Not much detail in Liberty. Good enough for now, though. 1905 -

1906 - 1907 - 1908 - Definitely very worn 1909 - 1910 - The reverse one is also a lower grade 1910 1912 and 1912-D. The one to the right is Denver. The 1912 minted coins are the last ones I have in the album. The three last spots are one 1912 Philly that is lower grade, and two reverses since in the regular Dansco album, there are two spots at the end. My goal is to replicate that, and then have the second page for all the worn out, but still enjoyable coins once I have upgraded a lot of them. That's all I got for now!

Very nice start, Humanist! I've contemplated tackling this series but always shied away.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Great additions so far! My OCD is tingling because some of your coins are rotated in their corresponding holes -

Awesome additions! I'd love to start a nice collection of these someday, but I'm focusing on collecting Large Cents right now.
Errers and Varietys.

It's a fun set for sure, and sometimes tough to find problem free examples. Good luck!

Quote: Very nice start, Humanist! I've contemplated tackling this series but always shied away. Thanks! It's really honestly not too bad if you realistically know what to expect and know what you want to spend. It's a pretty short series. The hardest challenge is finding nice coins that aren't beat up and worn out. Quote: Great additions so far! My OCD is tingling because some of your coins are rotated in their corresponding holes Thanks! And yeah, sometimes, nickels in Dansco albums are prone to moving for some reason! Quote: It's a fun set for sure, and sometimes tough to find problem free examples. Good luck! Yes, I have noticed that! Gotta shop around a bit for deals. That's basically what I've been doing on ebay. The seller that I got nicer coins from so far seems to have decent coins for not a lot of money, depending on the year. I've noticed there's also quite a variance in grade and year. The earlier years seem to cost more in XF condition. I added the coins into their own album today for now. This is just a spare binder I had for now. This was originally the binder for my 2x2 stock album, which I don't use anymore 1st page And then I added a couple of extra, similar to how Dansco has their official Liberty nickel album set up. I think for now, this will suffice. I plan on buying a label maker at some point which I will put to good use not only for this, but any blank albums that I have with blank pages. Honestly, this is the way to go I think from now on. It's really nice to be able to just buy your own album unlabeled, and customize how you want and add whatever coins that you wish that interest you.

Just for fun, some of the reverses This one, you can just barely make out the reverse lol This one has a fair amount of detail

I've always liked the reverse on those nickels. It just screams "Classic Coin"!

Same! I think it's definitely a classic design.
