$67. #1 of 40 acquired recently. Recently I purchased 40 slabbed Morgan dollars (36 ANACS, 3 PCGS and 1 ICG) and will post one a day alongside one Peace dollar. I paid an average of $67 for the 40 coins. This time I will post the grade of the coin 2 days after and this time we can compare our grades with those of TPGs. Thoughts? Thanks! I'll say MS-63.
Errers and Varietys.

ANACS MS62 / PCGS MS63 / ICG MS65 - depending on which TPG had this one.

Really asking for your grade. I already have the TPG grade.

I think the numerous reverse nicks would hold it to a 63

IMHO, on a bourse floor, the dings would be seen as a bit too many and too deep for MS-64. The knock below the eagle left wing (our visual right) and left of Liberty's nose are a bit too heavy. I could see it trading as an eye appeal 63, with a slight premium over generic 1885 MS-63s because of the luster. Decent solid coin.

normally we see above strikes on the 85's. the eagle breast is weak on this one but I dont it would affect anything. decent luster, just a little too many marks for MS64

TPG agrees with many of you. I think it is a strong 63 and have seen much worse in 64 holders. Thanks!

I recall reading an older topic from years back where the poster (and responders) said that when this slab with the ANACS logo on the lower right..... they agreed that the graders were much tougher on the coin/grade. So whenever I see that generation of slab I pause and really examine the coins.
