Hello, My Seated Liberty Half collecting has slowed since I have most common years. I'm collecting years, not the entire mint mark series. Maybe the 80's are out of my league. I'm on the harder years (mid 60's, mid 40's and early 50's). Finally got a 64. It's a bit rough but fits in my collection. What do you think about this one?

Nice coin! Looks about VG 8-10, perhaps F-12 but the reverse has too much wear.

Your coin is 1864-S WB-1, obverse die 1, reverse die A. It is the most common of the five die marriages for 1864-S, but all of these are scarce.
In terms of technical grade, the obverse makes F-12. The horizontal and vertical shield lines, gown, drapery, sandal, and rock details are just enough for F-12. The reverse is stronger, and is at least F-12 and the feathers, neck, and talons are very close to F-15.
There is overall porosity on the obverse, likely from environmental issues. One concern is the right obverse field. It looks like graffiti was retooled to reduce its visibility. It's certainly not unusual to see roughness from circulation wear in this area, but I see more here.
On balance, I see this as F-12 Details, in PCGS terms either a 94 code (altered surfaces) or 98 code (damage / graffiti). Not all details coins are equal, and yours certainly looks better than a holed or bent coin. The 1864-S is a tough date, and the general obverse porosity actually balances out the right obverse appeal for overall appearance. The important things are that you like the coin and it fits your collection!
Good find for a hard date, and congrats on filling a tough date in your year set.

The obverse field does pop more in the pics. I hadn't considered tooling. I thought more environmental. I really appreciate the die identification. This was a hard date to find in this condition at a reasonable price. So many are really junk or, on the other spectrum, really nice and out of my range. Thanks, folks.

For your specific project, I like it! As long as the price was right, for what it is, I'd be happy with it.
