Hello and thanks in advance for the help.

I came across this wheat with a massive hit on the reverse. It bent the coin even. My guess is this is post mint damage but I thought I be sure before I toss this in the wheat bag.

Thanks again!

Correct, it is PMD, toss it in the wheat bag.
No way for that to happen when the coin was struck.

I agree with JimmyD, PMD and also looks like it may have been previously encased, from the looks of the smooth edge of the coin.

Looks like PMD. I wouldn't toss it in the bag yet. I think you have a DDR on the reverse. The dots are elongated I think. https://doubleddie.com/805118.html

. . .
An 80-year-old abused hard-working cent, I agree, toss it into the bag.

for a dents that deep on the reverse, I'm not seeing any deformation on the obverse, nor am I seeing any moved metal.

I agree with Dearborn. The lack of damage that would be associated with this indentation makes me wonder if it is truly PMD. Perhaps 80 years of circulation could have erased any traces of metal movement, but with an indentation that large on the Reverse I find it somewhat improbable there wouldn't be bulge on the Obverse.

Thanks, all... there is definitely a bulge or indentation you can feel and is visible on the obv. I tried to depict this in the side angle shot of coin but perhaps it isn't evident there.
