Seems to have been Struck Through Grease, which is kinda neat. I do see some areas of corrosion on the reverse where the zinc core has been exposed to the elements and is in the process of degrading. Keep it if you want until you get your hands on an even more extreme example.

It's a coin that came from a nice Grease Filled Die. Nice find! Put it in a 2x2 and label it for future reference.
