I bought these on 12/18/25 when silver was about $67.20. When the Hunt Brothers tried to corner the silver market in January of 1980, silver hit a peak of $50.35. The current nominal price of silver has surpassed the Hunt Brothers peak, but if you were to adjust that price in early 1980 of $50.35, back then that sum had purchasing power equivalent to about $209 dollars today, so in inflation-adjusted real terms, we are still far away from the 1980 peak of silver 45 years ago. Posting one Peace dollar for grading each day alongside my daily Morgan dollar, with the hope that we all are able to help one another get better at grading Morgan and Peace dollars in the new year. Right now I think I have 143 coins in this queue for grading since I bought 138 and had 5 more lying around. fortcollins Pillar of the Community United States 3642 Posts	Posted 01/15/2026 11:20 am Interesting one. The scratch at the date either will detail it or be only an appearance drawback. If UNC, the rest of the marks are consistent with MS-63. The strike is weaker and the dies are pretty worn. There is quite a bit of die clashing going on, so this could be an interesting VAM. The devices aren't too baggy, and that helps. I think this one could make MS-63, even with the date scratch. Report this Post to the Staff
