Purchased six Morgans from a seller for about $109 each. This is the fifth of these coins. Seller had generally bad pictures and some were better than others. This only had an obverse picture but bought the coins as a group thinking that there was enough value in the other coins that were visible to justify the batch purchase. Maybe hold your thoughts until the coin arrives and I can photograph it for you? Thanks!

Well, if it only has an obverse, it likely would be MS-30-something. If it has a reverse, that number could easily double.

Some, or all of you may be puzzled by why I bought this based on just an obverse picture. Part of the reason is that it is graded by PCI at this lofty grade. Looking forward to seeing what shows up at my doorstep. Seller is currently digging out of a recent snowstorm so no idea when it will get here.
This was the picture of the reverse.

Numis question do you buy these to keep? Asking because you obviously pick up a good amount of coins. Which is awesome.

I have a coin business that I started after joining here. I don't sell a lot because I am not yet interested in selling many of my coins which I consider my babies. Mainly it serves to sell those coins that I have left after upgrades. In regard to Morgans, I have a few goals that include accumulating 1,000 mint state coins. I think I have 700-something mint state examples as well as a full date set. Many here will quibble about whether there arent a bunch of sliders in the group but having diverging opinions is the fabric of life. I think that if I include my mint state Peace dollars I am at 900+ silver dollars.

As PCI coins go, this one isn't bad. The heavy ding in the middle of the cheek and the cat scratches on the left obverse field are the issues. The rest of the coin is pretty nice. The cat scratches aren't deep and may look worse than they are because of what looks like an SPL obverse. I think this could make MS-63 SPL on a bourse floor.

The seller's reverse photo was entertaining.

i cant believe you pulled the trigger on those photos.

reverse is nicely struck up and would grade MS64. thats some intense scratches on the obv MS62.
not sure that the reverse is enough to pull this one up to a net 63
