I bought this one because I think there might be a PL surface hiding under the haze.

Nice frost on the devices but fields seem to have a lot of spots and marks. Hard to tell whether these are actual contact marks. Perhaps careful conservation would reveal a prooflike gem under the haze.

Arrived. The coin was in an old flip and covered with PVC film. Gave it a bath in Acetone, then E-Z-Est. Not as nice as the sellers photos depict but it is PL.

well one thing we know is this seller loves lots of light and from what I have seen the coin typically doesn't look like this in hand and your in-hand photos validates that.

MS63 looks PL

Your treatment worked wonders on this one. I didn't grade from the seller's photos because the higher points of the coin didn't look right. Your PVC ID explains it all.

There are a lot of very small surface scratches on the obverse, especially, and a couple small nicks on the eagle's breast and rims. You brought out the original luster nicely. I can't judge whether it makes PL from the photos, but it has a nice appearance. I think there's a bit too much to make 63 here, so I'm at MS-62, and at least SPL. It's definitely nice for the grade, and would be an easy sell.
