Yes, Happy Coin Week to all...I saw a segment on MSNBC Sunday morning about National Coin Week. The had the author of "The Coin Collector's Survival Manual" on. He said he was going to take his 1908 S Indian Head cent and go and spend it in Manhattan sometime this week to put it in circualation and some lucky person will get it back as change. He already did it with a 1913 D Lincoln. They showed an amusing pciture of him spending the Lincoln at a hot dog stand on the street.

I think it would be great since it is the start of national coin week. I think it would be great if all of use try to add a few old coin back into circulation. I am going to put back 20 wheat cents, 1 or 2 Mercury dime. think it would be great that we all try to add a few coin back. I know most of use have Wheat cent most could put a few back out there maybe through this we might get a few new collectors

Here is a clip from the latest news article on the coin recirculation:

"National Coin Week starts April 16, and one coin expert hopes to spread the wealth. Scott A. Travers, coin aficionado and former vice president of the American Numismatic Association, is deliberately putting three valuable and highly coveted coins into circulation.

His method is unusual, but Travers hopes his idea will gain attention and inspire people to start their own coin collections.

Outside the Nasdaq offices in New York City, Travers dispersed the first of three coins -- all pennies -- at a food vending stand: a 1914-D Lincoln Cent valued at $300.

On Tuesday Travers will spend two more pennies -- a 1908-S Indian Head cent and a 1909-S VDB Lincoln Head cent valued respectively at $200 and $1,000 apiece."

Don't you know there is someone in New York that would like to do business with Mr. Travers?
