Hello, I recently acquired this coin. I think there is enough detail to get the variety but I don't have the necessary references to do so. Any help would be appreciated :)

Some info that stuck out to me:
Rev - INDE: ET LIB:
Obv - AUCTORI: CONNEC:

The star by the sprig looks much larger than most examples I can find online.

It's a 17-g.3 which is a rarity 3 variety. Rarity 3 translates to 201 to 500 estimated examples. These are interesting coins. Do you collect colonial coins? I see you are from Canada, there are some very interesting French colonials that circulated heavily in Canada.

One of the few areas where I have any expertise! I should have mentioned though that it is a 1787.

If you are going to be dealing in these coins I would recommend the book on Connecticut coppers by Randy Clark for your research. It's expensive if it can be found at all, but covers all the information you need to share with your customers.

@lcutler thanks for your help! I enjoy keeping the nicer colonials, and Connecticut is by far the most common ones I come across :)

I'll keep my eyes peeled for that book
