I called the U S Mint today, as I do a few times a week . I asked again about the Lincoln Coin and Chronicle Set and still no answers as to when this set of just 50,000 will be released to the public, how many per house hold( there must be a limit). So I would ask for anyone who would care to contribute, any guesses on how long, once this set is available, no doubt @ 12:00 that day, this set will take to be sold out!! I seriously hope to be one of the few lucky one's to receive a set of this great piece of History, My guess with-in 24-hours after the set starts to sell, just a thought and would love to see the input of other's and who would be the closest to the exact actual time frame, Be Well, Mike.........

I have never wanted a "themed collector set" from the mint more than this one!

I'm sure they will limit them to 1 set per household and they will sell out within 24 hours.
You would think they'd be on sale in August when the LP3 is released. Not sure of what is holding things up now.

I think these will not be available till Nov or Dec and will sell out within 12 hours.
I will be at my daughters house using her new Verizon fiber Internet for the speed not that it will help any.
This will be a miracle if we get any as the HSN will grab them all up somehow.
But hope you all can get one I sure will also be trying.

I agree and think that this will be available in the fall/early winter. But I think it will sell out in about 2 hours........which might be how long it will take to even get "logged-in" on the Mints website during the "Lincoln Fever" that will be happening !.... THAT'S the part that will be tough ! ....

Shame on you JB !.........please perish that thought !
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY IDEAS !
(I watched one of their recent episodes, and the guy said they bought 20,000 Proof Sets----this was to get their PR-70 graded/slabbed Lincolns for sale !)

Don't worry, I used my botnet to prevent their botnet from viewing CCF posts; even through Google!

I think this would be an excellent time for the mint to offer these first to their longtime subscription customers. Such as ME!

It certainly didn't' sell out as fast as I'd hoped it would ! That took "at least" several months to sell out, if I remember correctly. But the Lincoln Set will only have a 50,000 production limit !..... that's the key piece of info right there ! With this kind of material specifically......I believe that's only happened a couple of times in Mint history where they've minted so few of these.

Do not be shocked if they figure out this is going to be a popular product and work to get authorization to increase the mintage on this set, even if it means increasing the limits to the individual coins. For all we know, they reason why they have not issued this set yet may be that they are waiting for approval to increase mintage. They know when they have a moneymaker and you know there is at least one government bean counter that has had this idea! Still, it does not bother me since I want the set for the contents, not for the limited release!

Probably right before I can get logged into there web site. It took me about 2 hours with the LP2 so I hate to see this set.

jbuck, Speak of a great idea for the Mint this just might be the reason for all of the "silence" about the release date. I am sure there are at least some people at the Mint who feel the notion that this set will be a "Hot item", this just might come to fruition. While I was on the phone last with a Mint rep, I asked her what She would suggest doing to order a set, Phone or online, she states" either way it will be crazy ". I like I am sure many other's here at CCF, have the silver Dollar and the proof sets, but I sure would like to have one of these Historic, limited, collector's sets . Also can you imagine how many sets HSN will get and I can already hear the speech about how rare the set is and can't imagine how much they will sell the set for and with just 4-flex payments...
