Wow that's nice! The scratch on the reverse is a shame.

Gorgeous MS-65!
Toning is a bit darker from your photos compare to PCGS unnatural photographic toning.

Thanks so much for your grades! It seems the consensus on this one was pretty strong, ranging from 64 to 65. The scrach on the reverse looks so much worse in the True View pic than it does on the coin, and the irregular toning is probably a matter of taste, as it mutes the luster a bit, and has that weird spot on the reverse, but the price was right and it is a gem type coin for me that I genuinely enjoy looking at.

PCGS called this one MS(65).

I need to check that designation "Stem Cut facing Up".
Thanks Adam for showing your Japan collection, hope to see the rest of it.

Thanks so much @macmercury! I really love this design! I am trying to learn more about these Japanese Meiji coins, although I am only trying to get a set of each denomination (I am forgetting the gold ones exist for now--they seem to be worth a lot more than their melt value in even low MS grades!). I shared the 20 Sen almost a year ago, and these recent posts covered the 1/2 sen, 2 sen, 50 sen, and 1 yen. I will share the 1 sen and 10 sen soon, and I still missing the 5 sen one at the moment.

Do you collect Japanese coins?

I think 5 - 6 years ago I bought a used discontinued Dansco Japan Type Album from a CCF member here, and just build up as my budgets allowed over time.

I remember posting the entire finished album in another member posts with other members posting theirs albums of other countries, but seem to unable to locate that link within CCF.
My goal from here on is to upgrade, this maybe a very long time. ;~D

Found it!
