Anyone interested in these being released today? High premiums of course but I really like the dual date and 250th bell privy. I'd need to dip into my savings account. Edited by livingwater 03/05/2026 11:53 am

The 2025 gold 1 oz proof and 2025 .25 oz gold proof are still available. Seems like people can't afford them or avoid them due to high premiums. In general a proof finish AGE does not add a lot more value when selling in my opinion. The 2026 dual date and bell privy may or may not sell out. Will see in the future if they hold much collectible value. I took the plunge and ordered the .50 oz, about 22.4% premium above Kitco spot price this morning.

Is that 22% based on 100% gold or did you factor in that these are only 90% gold?
That makes a big difference

Livingwater stated; Quote " I took the plunge and ordered the .50 oz, about 22.4% premium above Kitco spot price this morning. " Sweet,..... The U S Mint's casually throw an Avg $1,000.00 above spot on their Gold offerings, This I know.

For those who may not know, gold buffalos are 100% gold. Gold eagles are about 91.67% gold, 3% silver, the rest copper. Gold eagles follow the tradition of pre 1934 US gold circulated coins which had copper in them to make them harder, last longer in circulation than softer 100% gold. The amount of gold in gold eagles is stated on them. But they weigh more than the gold amount to account for the added alloys. So a .50 oz gold eagle has about 15.55 grams gold but it's total weight is about 16.96 grams.
I have a few early fractional gold eagles with the Roman numerals date which were used 1986-1991. I like those. This new dual date will be cool too in my opinion.

The .50 oz $25 is no longer available. With it's lowest mintage 18,500 of the individual ones maybe collectors wanted it a little more than the others which are still available as I write this. The set is also still available. And the buy limit has changed from one to none.
