tropicalbats Pillar of the Community United States 6108 Posts	Posted 04/07/2026 01:55 am Hoping to not break any forum rules, but wanted to post that the Tropicalbats PCGS registry set is currently up for auction at David Lawrence Rare Coins (DLRC). You can see my post with the full back story on why I am selling it and all that here: https://goccf.com/t/489290 Many of the varieties in this set have been posted here over the years, so some of the coins may be familiar. But the reason I am putting this here is because DLRC takes fantastic coin photos! The set includes most all of the Lincoln Cent major varieties and most of those have been given the full coin treatment not just the slab. It's kind of a treasure trove of variety coin photos. I don't know if they keep them up forever but they do show past auctions for the last three years so it should be a resource online for quite a while. Report this Post to the Staff

As a lifelong angler and current at-large board member of the PA state chapter of Native Fish Coalition, I can state unequivocally that such work is more important now than ever. This whole undertaking has been a lot of work but it's right on the cusp of the final payoff. Over the years a lot of folks have questioned me about my personal Lincoln Cent collection, and I've never really been able to answer other than to say that it's pretty good. With the registry set, it's all out there to have a look at, and with the DLRC photos you can see the coins well. When I decided to put up a registry, I looked at all the sets available to go for. None really captured all the varieties well, other than the full big set. At 585 coins this set is a monster to put together and was a lot more work than I had expected. It is one of the reasons I've posted less here over the past year as my focus was on selling coins to pay for buying coins I needed. That's a ton of coin photography to sell all that stuff on ebay, so I haven't been as excited to just keep doing more coin photography. Plus in general if I am photographing a coin to sell it I generally do not post it here. Fingers crossed for a good couple of auction evenings so I can finally relax and get through the last step with the scholarship. It is endowed "in perpetuity" so it goes on forever with just the interest being given out as scholarships. Who knew, primarily variety coin collecting funding wildlife students.
