Hello all, I found 3 of these 1952D LWCs a while back. I have had no luck finding a match for what I think is an RPM. I'm looking for opinions on whether or not it is an RPM. The first pic is of V Vs photo for MM-004 for 1952. the others are of one of my coins. Thanks for your input.

Doesn't look like an RPM to me. I'm not seeing split serifs.
Errers and Varietys.

These are just damaged from circulation hits. When a punch was used to make an ROPM, it meant a doubled image being hammered into the die. Think about the mechanics of the punch being applied to better understand what you are looking for. The first hit would make a normal D. The next hit would also make a normal D, just offset from the first. Where they overlapped you would not see something flattened, you would see remnants of the second hit's letter superimposed.

I do agree that yours is MMS-004 which helps eliminate several listings as there are three different mm styles for 1952. Yours has some circulation damage, which does not help, as there are several minor listed RPMs that are close. I did a couple of comparisons but there are so many that are similar in mm location and RPM, so take a look at the addition listings on cc that I have listed. You have the coin in hand, so check markers against these. 029, 030, 031, 042, 065, 087 and 096. cc link https://www.coppercoins.com/diesear...=mmom&page=2

I think these are going on the "bored pile" though.

possible RPMs on these 2 coins - BUT please only one coin in each topic. So if you have more coins with RPMs to show, start new topics.

newdude, I grabbed your coin 2 and 3 before you deleted them. I will look closer at them in the morning but do not think at this point that they are all from the same die.

makecents, I agree with that on different dies. Seeing them blown up on the screen the differences stood out. I am making it part of my practice to really blow the images up before posting from now on. thanks
