The angle is interesting! Since examples of this type of damage are uncommon during this time period, comparisons are as yet unavailable in any meaningful way. Overall, angles of 30°, 45°, and 60° are seen frequently, however. Hopefully more examples will emerge. I have a high confidence that this coin was minted on a press using the 1945 Conversion Unit for Coining Presses I discussed in my article. Report this Post to the Staff
