I found this in a BU 1956 Jefferson nickel roll. Looks like a "Black Beauty" (AKE Sintered Planchet) due to improper annealing. They're more common in 1959 and 1958.
Good sleuthing to find that old thread, I didn't click on it but if I remember correctly topic was authored by Spence and I have always wondered if TB sent him one to cut in half. ( I read through it a year or so back when I found mine)
