I know not everyone has access to a band saw but that seems like it would be a good option.

I had access to one. But no more.

No, father-in-law retired and sold his machine shop.

That's the best way to do it in my opinion, Marv65. Nicely done.

Love it, Marv! That looks to be about a 14" saw, which is what my big guy is as well. However the motor is wired for 220V and I don't have a 220V receptacle in my garage currently. So I have to use the smaller benchtop 110V band saw for now. Any size bandsaw would work well with de-slabbing.

Quote: That looks to be about a 14" saw 18" 220 single phase - first piece of machinery I ever bought years ago. I also have a 30" Oliver 217 but that is strictly for wood. Luckily my barn was already wired 220 and I added a 3 phase converter to run the big machines.

Marv65, nice band saw and shop. I just have a 10" benchtop band saw, don't have room for a big one.

I will stick with my C-clamps. I only have at most three more slabs to break.

I'll might make a video of the vice method tomorrow after I take 2 coins to the shop to confirm that they are authentic.
One is in a PCGS with the groove and the other is an NGC
