I thought that I would throw a little trivia question out there and see how many folks answer it correctly or get close. I will wait a few days to post the answer or post an acknowledgement when it is correctly answered!

Question: When is a searched Wheat cent considered to be unsearched?

It depends on the level of interest of the collector. One might only search for dates while another might search for grade. There are also those that are much more involved that also search for every possible error and variety.

Wow! A lot of responses to a very important topic to most of us Coin Collectors. The ebay answer is a good one but it and the other answers are not correct. Keep trying folks but you might have to think outside the box!

When a suspect has been frisked, "searched" and they had that "unsearched" Wheat cent in their pocket, perhaps in a roll, and the suspect was released, returned their property, and went home opened the roll, and found that gem everyone else missed.

This could also work at an airport or any other security search.

No correct answer yet but keep trying! At least everyone is starting to think outside the box! If no one correctly answers the question by this evening, I may post some clues.

How about:
When you search for correct change at the store.

And then spend the change without checking it.

A searched Wheat cent is considered unsearched right before it is searched.
