You are having problems finding a picture of your coin because it does't actually exist- it is a fake. The design mimics a Trade dollar minted from 1873-1885 but the differences are plainly obvious.

Edit: actually it is a replica of an 1873 Trade dollar pattern, i.e. a proposed coin design that was never minted for circulation

I would say it is only worth a couple bucks as a novelty and is almost certainly not silver. A genuine Trade dollar would weigh 27.22 grams and be composed of 90% silver.

I have the same coin. If this coin was "uncirculated" it must be worth more than a few bucks, you think? As I was researching this coin from the 1865-1875 Britian Websites, I found a few thousand that was circulated. So, I dont understand why it would not be worth anything! "stun here"!

if its a true pattern dollar then its worth something, but not if its a fake...as the article says, they were made out of a lot of different materials....

Your coin is a fake. It has only any value to someone wanting to collect fake pieces.

I do collect fakes (of the legal variety) - but this one is actually illegal as it is, so it is valueless at present.

The coin is a copy of a US pattern Trade dollar and it was produced in China very recently (within the past 2 years). These sell for $1 each - or less depending upon your source in Hong Kong. The Copy is illegal because it does not have the word COPY engraved or stamped on it in accordance with the Hobby Protection Act.

The coin is not legal to import into the US and it is not legal to sell until the word COPY is added. Because it is a copy of a "Pattern" and not a copy of an actual monetary item, I am uncertain about the legal status of simply possessing the coin. But I would add the word COPY ASAP.

First: to the Forum!

Second: This is what an 1873 Trade dollar looks like:

Sorry, but I agree your coin is not a genuine Trade dollar. (It is kind of cool as a novelty though).
