mark44004 New Member United States 23 Posts	Posted 08/08/2009 6:23 pm ok folks. I'm back with the skinny on this coin. I just got it back today from the coin dealer. Originally they thought it would get certified but not graded. Well surprise! It came back slabbed, certified, and graded at PR53 J-1617 Goloid! Way cool. I will post a pic once I find my camera and download it on my computer. It cost me $85.00 for the certification. I'd like to sell it but now I have to research it's value. The coin dealer wanted to low ball on what they'd give me for it but I said no way. Awesome. Report this Post to the Staff

It's been a few years since a circulated J-1617 passed through Heritage's auction results; I'm guessing the current worth of your coin is going to be north of $1200 in a PCGS slab. According to my 2009 Judd patterns book, J-1617 last sold at a Stack's auction in July of 2008 for $1840 in PF-40. They list the estimated value at $3,500 for MS-60. More facts: Rarity is 4, meaning there are 76-200 estimated coins total 141 have been graded by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC at the time the book was published 108 have been at significant auctions since 1990 Report this Post to the Staff
