I am not really expecting it to drop that low... I am just hoping so I can get back into a little silver. And if it were to drop that low, even $10 I would not think it would stay there for more than a day or two.

was in the coin shop today and the dealer was talking to a guy in there buying 100 oz of silver. He buy and sell to other investers and deals alot in comataties. He was saying he feel and see silver hitting as high at 20.00 oz sometime this year. but will end the year around 12-15oz. He said he feels silver is almost more rare then Gold since gold is refined so many time there will alway be a supply of gold, but will silver being used in differnt industrie thing it doesn't get refine as offen and it will be hard to get down the road.
Another thing was brought up that I thought was intesting my dealer is in Idaho and his son own a shop in San Diego. He was saying that in Idaho everyone is buying and they can not keep silver in the store. But on the other hand his son in SD said everyone there is selling. So what is the treand in your city are most buying or selling. just a few think That were brought up at the coin store today. My feeling is when silver hit 15.00oz it might be time to sell if you are lookiing at making money on it this year. if not hold on to it for a few more years and you could see it sitting at 25.00oz for silver and 950-1000 oz on gold. so if long term hold if you want to make money now sell withen the next few months when it hit 15. jsut my opion which doesn't mean a lot but have been studing the market lately

Can you buy the silver maple leafs direct from the RCM w/o having to go to a dealer or ebay and pay a premium?

nds No,you cannot buy them directly from RCM.If you go on their web page here : http://www.mint.ca/royalcanadianmin.../default.htmthey will tell you that they do not sell directly, only through dealers. You might want to check this one : http://www.bordergold.comI've bought from them. The only thing is they charge me $ 25 shipping on silver ( regardless of quantity),because I think they want to keep the silver there for you ( free storage). It might be different for US buyers, don't know. So if you want to buy a few maple leafs, their prices are good, but the shipping is outrageous.E-mail them on this, see what they tell you.

That's too much for shipping. I only buy 1 or 2 ounces of silver at a time and with any shipping costs I question weather or not I really want to pay so much more than the coin is actually worth.

I have about 150 ounces at kitco's pool account and I am guessing that is like Abyss was talking about with the "free storage" thing , they keep the silver there and when you want to sell you just sell it back to them at the price that silver is at. usually the buy price is about .10 over spot not sure what the sell price is, probably something like .10 under spot

Yes Bryan, that is exactly what they want. They seem like a serious dealer, but I would still like to have the coins in hand, rather than there (if you're talking only a few pieces anyway). nds76 This dealer I've visited today sells the 1oz Maple Leafs at $ 18.50 cdn ( for three or more coins). This price is in line with what that bordergold offers (today, but this guy is not a bullion dealer),but here I can buy them without any taxes(as a canadian if I buy from bordergold I have to pay 8% on top of their quoted price),and I don't pay shipping because I can go to this guy and just pick them up.I don't know if this price makes sense for you,but if you're after just a few coins,i can go buy them for you and ship them directly to you at the real shipping price

Looks like 13.00 is going to be a big hurdle for it to make it over again, it keeps getting close to the 13.00 mark then drops back way down close to the 12.00 mark once again

Well looks like it hit the 13.00 mark with a vengance, it shot past it today after going up and down from the 13.00 mark and shot right past it today. Maybe 15 will be the next hurdle we will just have to hide and watch I guess

The NEW silver purchase program everyone has been talking about is nearing take off so $15 will not be the hurdle. I would look very hard at $20 being the norm within months. And, as always, time will tell!

If you are talking about that new Silver ETF,i think it's a very good idea..let's see : They charge 0.5 % of your assets You have to buy the shares through stockbrockers who charge fees for selling and buying It looks like in US is taxable at the rate of 28.5% capital gains if you hold them more than one year...yup,really good deal A stupid question from a simple man : if I have the money to buy 10 oz. of silver, why would I buy one of these shares and not the silver itself

Good point Abyss!!! You see the biggest difference between us (coin collectors) and them (the ignorant investors) is the fact THEY believe in the middle man for all their business ventures. Most folks don't have a clue how to do things themselves and for the most part are afraid to anything without PAYING someone to do their serious thinking for them. It is a sad fact that most Americans have been conditioned over the years to trust a total stranger who I might add, gets paid up front, to invest their money and they actually feel good about it. And of course there are literally millions who don't realize you can actually take physical possession of precious metals? I like the idea of being the "boss" in this hobby or investment opportunity, which ever you would like to call that which we do, and it is one of the few things left in the world WE can actually do on our own! I guess if you have money to burn it is cheaper to pay someone else to do your business and then leave a papertrail for tax purposes but in the end what have you actually gained? There is no thrill of looking upon the beauty of your purchase, studing the history of that which you have acquired and felt the weight in your hand? None the less these new investors into precious metals will help drive the market beyond anything we have seen for years so let them have at it!
