Very nice coin! I wish I could get my hands on some of the large cents.

Nice coin, I'm no pro here so I'll guess it's a VG-8+. How was it graded?

I bought it from a guy at work from his large cent collection. This was the lowest graded (we settled on VG+)in the entire set. He had many XF's.

It looks solid for F-12 and the surface quality looks above average for this difficult series of large cents. I'd love to see sharper and larger images but these photos suggest the coin has natural color and is free of corrosion.

Maybe your co-worker would like to show off his collection on the forum? If he's looking to sell any of those XF coins he might find ready buyers here. He will need to first meet the 50-post minimum requirement, of course!

Me likey! I second the motion for bigger pics. I would love to have some "rejects" like that.

I used a microscope camera, but wasn't able to get the whole thing in.

I would give it an F-12! What some folks see as wear on the Obverse and Reverse rims, I see as a Weak Strike due to a tapered planchet (i.e. thinner on one side and very thick on the other side). This is apparent from the thick high rims West through North through East on the Obverse rim and West through South through East on the Reverse rim.

I'm going with F12 as well and as noted nice surfaces. A great pick up as those Classic heads are a real bear.
Rest in Peace

I only own two large cents, and neither are as nice as this one.
