i sold an item on ebay and the buyers paypal address is unconfirmed I have been doing this for a while and this is the first time this has happened.

his paypal address says to ship to canada but his ebay profile says he is a member in japan.

what do I do is it ok to ship to an unconfirmed address it is only a $5.00 item by the way.

he paid and everything has gone ok so far and he has no negative feedback though he only has five transactions.

That's a hard one. If he has paid though and you have records of receiving it then it shouldn't matter where he wants you to ship. Just print out a copy or save a file of the transaction and send it away. You have your money and not the merc. so you should be just fine. I dont know what would go wrong.

Why not just ask him to confirm his address?

If you send to an unconfirmed address does it void buyer protection or anything like that?

Does PayPal allow foreign users to confirm addresses? Of all the foreign shipments I've made, I don't think any of them had verified addresses. Maybe (just maybe!) PayPal doesn't want to take the risk for seller protection for all the things that could happen with overseas postal services.

Users of ebay\paypal in the UK can confirm their addresses.

What we can't have as far as I been able to work out is a confirmed alternate address.

I would just message him through ebay to confirm where its to be sent. That way you have the message to back up the story if needed.
I buy DVD's and sports gear from the UK and although my shipping addy is Pa I often get them sent to my Scottish address if I feel the shipping is too high for international.
Next trip home ill pick them up.Ive noticed more and more peeps have alternative addresses, its not always a worry.

I would also make it signature confirmation not just delivery confirmation that way if there is any dispute you can prove it was signed for by someone at the address paypal has. I know its only 5.00 but I just find it better to cover all my bases because next time if I see him it may be a 500.00 item and that would be allot harder to take a hit on

If it's been paid for and you kept confirmation of where to send it everything should be fine.

Glad to hear the transaction went smoothly, but I will point something out that I don't think anyone else did. He may have no negative feedback because he cannot receive negatives as a buyer (stupid ebay rule). I guess he could have "false positives" where a seller leaves feedback but puts a negative comment in it. That's something to look for.
