Maybe "Can you please sell the coins in a separate lot? I don't have that much to pay for the artwork!"
Well, at least this guy has free shipping.

Forget the coins for just one minute and think about this. 20 Picasso's, 6 works from Degas, 1 Van Gogh and a Monet. We are expected to believe that such works are to be sold on the bay for a micro fraction of what they would bring at real auction house such as Lloyd's or Sotheby's I don't think so. But then again I may be wrong.

four hours to go: 55 bids; upto $236k. The header describes it as "Estate Lot", but the text states that the Consignor is still alive. If the auction were in Oz, I'd be worried about the claw-back provisions of the Bankruptcy Act. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I can't imagine any sane person handing over that sort of money without a close physical inspection. Peter Temp: 22.5°C at 8.32am

Quote: Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I can't imagine any sane person handing over that sort of money without a close physical inspection No kidding. I can't understand why anyone would put up this kind of money for something they haven't seen for themselves first (and with several experts to confirm their authenticity) or some person on ebay they haven't even met. Our economy will tell you everything you need to know.

It looks like he is buying tons of stuff on ebay, and I'm sure if I checked them all out, it would add up to one huge scam. Someone should bust this guy.

That is just really odd . These should clearly be at Sotheby's or some place other than ebay...

I don't understand why someone would take all of this and lump it together and put it for sale on ebay? I'm pretty sure that if he sold those paintings at 75% off of there value, he would probably find some buyers easily. Though the thing I don't understand is that with all of those gold coins, why doesn't the seller just go to a coin shop and sell them? He would get more money these two ways than by going through ebay. If it's too good to be true...

It is things like this that feed the cynical side of my life, 9 million estimated value and must sell, and the winner walks off with all the stated artwork, coins, figurines, etc, all for less than $300K?

I saw this auction before I saw this thread. This seller has been doing these large estate auctions for the last year or two, most of them ending between 25K and 100K. I've watched a few of them, but not interested because it is sight unseen and have no idea if stuff is authentic. However, buyer feedbacks have been uniformly positive on prior lots.
I am still very skeptical of the art being authentic. But if everything in there is authentic, that buyer just get a great deal.

In this hobby, if you have money, you can buy what you want. IF you don't you look at the people spending over hundred K's on coins and artifacts.
