This is one of my later additions to the type set. It is quite a bit "darker" than my usual additions, but the look has grown on me. It was a raw purchase, and the price was very terrific. :-) The details are quite strong, and I believe the coin is original. There is subdued cartwheel luster around the stars and lettering. Also quite a bit of luster on the devices themselves. I assume the darkness of the coin would hinder the overall value as many would see it as negative eye appeal? Opinions on grade, photos and value would all be appreciated.

Really looks interesting, I would opine at F12 Fine, note drapery and shoulder clasp, it's a very nice coin. Regards

Somebody is a tough grader. : )

AU or better. Really hard to tell about the luster. The coin has great details and I don't see any distractions that would hurt the coin. Very nice Pickup. Its a B2 Small Letter Variety and has a R2 rating.

Thanks, Jim.

Seeing those two Fine grades, I want to buy from them!

I'd go XF-45, or a bit better.

Nice and crusty.

Also, nice die break on the reverse.

Detail is a bit weak at the clasp and at the front of Liberty's bust. This could be strike weakness since the reverse has no obvious wear that I can see. Unless there is an "altered surface" or "questionable toning" issue (which I don't see) this looks like an AU coin. Depending on how a grading service views the strike and the eye appeal it could grade anywhere from 50 to 58 IMO. Looks great!

I would agree with Jaobler, generally. It looks AU but I can't tell where.

Still, a VERY NICE coin!! I love the coloring!

Thanks guys. I would say AU-50-53 overall. There is some luster, but not enough to make 55 in my opinion. It certainly has 55-58 details. F-12 you say Nic? I'd like to buy some coins from you. :-)

It's made of chocolate ... right?

AU-50 in my book, and looks mighty tasty!

very nice bust quarter. I can see a little more wear on the obverse but I would go XF-45 to AU-50.
