I'm not too sure where you can buy one there, but you might want to try a bank. Sorry, and good luck!

in guangzhou on April 22 ! Are you also attending the Canton Fair ? :-)

I have also attended the Canton Fair.

In China, you should go to cultural market to buy coins.
There are cultural market in every city in China. Cultural market is the market for antiques, stamps, coins, telephone card, etc in China.

Wait, don't you mean, please buy plenty of counterfeit coins in cultural market or else probably known as flea market?

How severe is the problem of counterfeits in such places?

As well as, how likely it is possible that someone would be selling a silver panda in such market?

I do not buy silver coins.
But I also know that there are a lot of counterfeit of old silver coins ( coins before Republic of China ) in the cultural market. But for silver coins of Republic of China, I think there is almost no counterfeit.

Such as silver panda. Normal silver panda does not worth too much. No one will make counterfeit. On the other hand, new coins are very beautifully made. Counterfeit can be told easily.

But for old silver coins, which is expensive and hard to judge the authenticity. There are really lot of counterfeit.

I disagree with the silver panda not counterfeited. Last year on ebay, there were a few counterfeited silver pandas but with insane errors, like double strikes, and they looked VERY real.

Some people were terribly tricked and spent over 500USD on such unusual errors, except when they send it to the experts, they determine that they are fake.

It is really a bad thing that there are always counterfeit coins.

For your information, there are always no error coins in China, which is really an interesting phenomenon. There are lots of different error coins in America or other countries. But in China, the government says that there is no error coins because all the coins will be checked before circulation. I have doubt about that, because there are so many coins which can not all be checked.

But anyway, for your and all the other coin collector's information, do not trust any error coins of People's Republic of China, especially silver coins. There should be no error coins. And even there is, they are not admitted by Chinese government. So it will not have any value.
