Late spring has been the most fruitful when I decided I would look where the giant piles of snow had been from the winters plowing. Often found quite a few coins and even a bill or two in the sand and dirt pile...

Something tells me it would be a good idea to take the metal detector over to the city's Snow Dump some afternoon...probably lots of Loonies and Toonies in there...

But Eurocoin, isn't that because Finns are really Scotsmen who like the colder climate?

Yes, I even talk like Sean Connery after few beers But otherwise - we don't have those brilliant singers like Susan Boyle

Actually we have place called Laihia - "Scotland of Finland"...Here's picture of its elongated token "coinage":

Terve Eurocoin, mites menee?

I enjoyed my time in Helsinki many years ago, and as I remember picked up some good Swedish silver coinage. Suomi on mahtava maa.
Onnea,

Eurocoin,
only because she was beautiful. Otherwise, Finnish resembles an opticians eyechart. How can you make a language with so many vowels sound so melodious?

Yes, I can imagine that. Sometimes we say that Finnish is a good cipher - only a handful of people (in the World) can understand it.

Melodious and Finnish in the same sentence?

Oh yes Eurocoin. When a beautiful young woman whispers in your ear, even Finnish can sound melodious

I like that saying. I think it's bad luck too NOT pick up any change you find. My own superstition if you will. Can't want and wish for more money if you are to proud to pick up any that come your way.

The change for some cigarettes got dropped out the window in a drive through and when she saw I was going to go for them she said she would get me some more. I told her I thought it was bad luck. There wasn't much room between my door and the building so I had to really squeeze myself out of the car, I couldn't reach them from the inside. The cashier looking at me like I was a fool. Did I mention the three cars behind me in the drive through.

I really think it is bad luck.

About finding coins:
Well, I don't find too many in where I live(Istanbul). Occasionally I find 5 Kurus coins, and 1-Liras a couple of times per year. I always find more when I am abroad.
I find many pennies and five-pence pieces in London and England. I've found several foreign coins, Israeli and UAE as well as Norwegian and several US pennies and Dimes walking on the Oxford Street in London.
In Sctoland, I did find pennies, twopence and five-pence coins as much as I find in London. I was in Edinburgh, though, maybe all the tourists dropped them!:)

Considering everywhere I had been to, Russia so far is the best place to find coins. I'd spent a week in Russia recently, I found more than 100 coins, 1,5,10 and 50 Kopeeks and several 1 and 2 Roubles. Practically, Kopeek conis has no value, and most people don't bother to pick them up from the ground, or pick them back when they drop them.
I gathered more than 100 coins in 5 days in Russia. :)
All of them combined doesn't worth more than .50c US. :)

if you want to find old coins, check your local CAR WASH. you will always find some coins. I found $2.47 at a car wash once, but it wasn't old.

When I was a kid while walking home I would go by the coke and candy machines and carefully look under them. This made maybe $0.25 or $0.50 per day, back when a man's wage was around $5 per hour. I'd still do it (aged 50) but it would be too hard to stand back up.

I found 50 cents on the ground at the drugstore yesterday. I'm rich!

Also, I usually find a penny or two at 7-11.
