For those of you who use the cardboard fold over and staple holders, do you prefer the 2x2 or the 1.5x1.5 sizes for cents?

I had my nickels in binders with pages that had 2 x 2 pockets for the longest time. You can view 30 coins per page with 1.5 x 1.5 and I think that they look so much nicer like that with the smaller foldovers.
I never changed over though, my better coins went into Airtites and Kointains back in foldover 2 x 2's or hard 2 x 2's with holed inserts or the whitman snap closed clear ones. This way I still store them in the long 2 x 2 boxes. You can write more on a 2 x 2 than a 1.5 x 1.5. But I do think 1.5 's look very nice. I put dimes in cent size, cents in nickel size, nickels in quarter size etc. This way you show the whole coin. Bull nose pliers, flatten down my staples.

2x2s are what I started out with as a kid and old habits die hard.

I have always used 2x2's but I do like how the 1.5x1.5's look. I don't write anything on the holders other than the date and mintmark. I have a flat clinch stapler too.

Bull nose pliers, eh? I went with the 2x2s. You can find sizes for all, but the largest coins. I'm not against 1.5x1.5s, I have some and they fit in the 2x2 pages just fine. Hmmmm, time to get some more pages and elongated coin 2x2s.

I like the 1.5x1.5 holders. If for no other reason than the pages they fit into hold 30 (vs 20 2x2s). The pages are the most expensive part of the setup. Now that I'm used to them, I just think there's too much wasted space on a 2x2 with a small coin in it. If you're worried about not enough writing space, you can use flips with the coin in one side and an insert in the other.
1.5x1.5 will work well if your grouping your coins by denomination. The half-dollar sized 1.5s have uncomfortably slim margins, and silver-dollars won't fit in a 1.5. So if you're mixing and matching the sizes, I'd go with 2x2...

I really like the 1.5's for small coins up to quarter's, then I move up to 2x2's. I use both the pages and storage boxes. you can store a lot of coins (for the space) in the 3 row storage box's. if space is a premium, this is a big plus.

I use only 2X2, like others have stated this keeps everything all the same size. They are easy to get and rather common. Don't think I have ever seen anyone at a coin show selling the 1.5's but many of the dealers sell coins mounted in them. Also, none of the coin shops in my area sell them. I like having the extra space to write on, especially for world coins, Presidential dollars, State Quarters....etc. But - in the end... use what you like best and use the size that is most appealing to you and you'll never go wrong. It's your collection.
