What is the difference between the Kennedy half dollar 1979S Variety I and the Variety II please.

has to do with the mint mark. If I find pics I'll post them for you

as you see there is a type 1 & 2 in 1981 also. They are also called clear or filled S.

keep that sight handy. It's still in progress but is handy for other coins too. (Like Ike dollar varieties)
