Can you list the dates in the set? If the 1996 W includes the Burnished Unc, there would be 22 coins. Thanks, Bill

Good call on "just which dates and Mint marks are included".I also figure that from 86-06, are 21 years, if there are just 1-example of each year, which I have a feeling this is what some consider "a set", even if they were all proofs, thats $40.00 each, if That is indeed the amount of coins being offered, IMHO, Thats not a great deal....... Since I posted my reply, I re-read the 8-11-09 Numismatic News and among the ads are a complete set of ASE'S 1986-08, INC-95W & 06 REV PROOF, ALL in original Gov boxes and you can have them all-24-coin set for just $4625.00, That is insane......

FOUNDINROLLS,SIR FERRARI,MORGANS DAD; I have not seen these coins yet. The owner dropped them by my friend's store for me to view. I was assuming by talking to my friend that they were 'regular' issue Bullion Coins, graded by ICG, MS-70 with no mint mark, but I'm not sure. I didn't think to ask if there was a mint mark, but now I'm confused. I have collected the Proof issues (S,P & W), the issue with no mint mark (only sold to the chosen few by the mint), and starting in 2006, the Burnished Unc. with a 'W'. AM I MISSING SOMETHING? Since they are MS, they are not Proof. Anyway, I will find out for sure tomorrow, as he was off today. input already given, and any in the future is GREATLY appreciated.

considering they said MS-70 that pretty much excludes any proofs, may include the West Point uncirculated version but they are probably all bullion pieces from Philadelphia mint

IMHO I don't mess with MS 70 etc. etc. I think the value is in the bullion, and I personally wouldn't pay much more than that...

After several opinions, including input here, I'm passing on this 'set'. Too high of a price is the main reason. One local dealer told me that 'ICG' is not the best of grading companies, and said he uses PCGS and NGC. I've never used a grading service in the past. Is there one that stands out among the rest for possible future use? I have also read that many feel that there is no such thing as a perfect coin. Opinions please.. Thanks to everyone for their input.

IMO, It is all up to the person doing the submissions for grading, ICG, is in the top 5, 3rd party graders, IMO, also you could go through the "top" grading company PCGS, but this will come at a larger premium than others, (except specials they have at times)also many people feel, like myself, they are an over-rated company, However when you look for a coin and see the PCGS one, and the ICG one, most would feel more comfortable with the PCGS coin, why I am not positive but my take is that while other companies are as good (if not better) the name is a well known and well respected one.Not that the other top 4 are not respected or as good, just this company probably has graded more coins. This is just my opinion, I like the underdog, as long as He/She can do an as good a job as the rest.......
Also an example: When you get a chance to ride a motorcycle and you have a choice, which would you rather ride. It is all a matter of choice, but sometimes the more well known name, wins out over all, again, just my opinion.....
People tend to gravitate to a more well known name, I personally have had 2-coins graded and chose ANACS, not all the grading companies will grade just any coin( at least when I sent mine in ).

there are three top grading companies and they are PCGS and NGC and ANACS then the 4th would be ICG in my opinion but the differences between the top 3 and the 4th is a pretty big gap as far as grading goes in my personal opinion

Bryan, I believe you are correct, in that the order of the grading companies is as you stated, I just do not think PCGS is all that. Many companies make mistakes and put the wrong coins in the wrong slab,etc.. I feel that the standards set for graders are high and PCGS, while overall is a good company, their standards are lately "more flexible" than they were years ago, IMO, they need the business and/or they need/want more$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.Again just my personal opinion...
