My aunt just gave me a few Kennedy half dollars. They are year 1964, 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969. Two of them are worn and look used, and three others are quite shiny. Could anyone tell me what they might be worth?

Assuming they are average circulated coins of no special die variety, the 1964 (90% silver) around $5.00 and the others are 40% silver worth around $2.00. Pictures are always welcome here! They could be worth more depending on condition or if a rare die variety.

Proofs are mirror-like - do not touch them with your fingers (or at least gently hold them by their edges). If they are shiny, but not reflective then they are just in very good condition and a "business strike." At the very least, they are worth the "melt" value as ratman stated. Certainly, the worn ones are going to be only worth melt.

post some pics and the folks here will be better able to help you. Overall, unless the 1964 is a certain "accented hair" variety, the coins may be worth a bit more than melt... but you are not going to retire from them. JFKs are fairly popular coins as the president was popular, so people tended to save them and therefore there are many good conditioned JFKs out there.
