Think this is a cracked die? The 1984? Kinda neat!

Yes the 84 would be considered a die crack.

You pulled them from circulation? Nice finds.

The no mouth is a strange one for sure.

That's NOT a die crack!

It's gas under the copper plating. Yup, gas bubbles.

The difference is VERY easy to spot. A die crack will be very crisp and jagged like a crack in the sidewalk and will always follow weak points in the design. Gas bubbles are softer, they don't have crisp jagged edges, and don't run along weak points in the design. In fact, they don't necessarily follow the design at all.

I agree with Chuck...it's not a die crack but it is a line of bubbles that damaged the surface of the coin.

Coppercoins,how do you tell that from a lamination? lack of separation and peeling?
