Just purhcased my first numismatic coin from a local auction. Not sure what PCGS will grade this at. Any suggestions?

MS 60 or cleaned harshly. It is hard to tell from the photos.

AU-58, looks like a lot of surface scratches and some wear on the cornet and letters in LIBERTY.

I'm thinking high AU. 55 or 58.

Interesting coin! Very pretty!

It definitely has good details and the wear is minimal (it doesn't seem to have been in circulation long. Maybe it was just not protected well in someone's collection).

The background scratches degrade the overall grade from MS.

I agree AU-58 seems best guess.

Gold is hardly my specialty, but I kinda disagree that this coin shows any wear.

It is hard to tell by the pics but it could have had a cleaning. The surface scratches seem to be circular in motion esp on the obv. It can be tough to grade gold since it is so soft and gets lots of contact/ abrsion marks. Otherwise I would give it an AU-58 or MS-60 with possible cleaning.

mint luster remains...if this coin had fewer contact marks it would be MS-60
so AU-58 is a good grade here.

I agree this appears to be a mint state coin with full mint luster. It is heavily bagmarked and hairlined but not necessarily cleaned. I'd give it a technical MS-60, but with market value reduced to AU-55. It might actually look a lot better in-hand since the digital images probably exaggerate the defects somewhat.

Very interesting coin.
I don't think it saw circulation.
Can you take more pics and change the lighting?
Maybe place lights further away. I think digital and lighting exaggerate the appearance
Regardless MS-60
