It appears to have a minor RPM, but the doubling otherwise is Machine Doubling.

You do not have 1960D-1DO-001 and there is nothing identical at all. That is a very distinctive major doubled die, a small date hubbed over a large date and that DDO also has an RPM with dramatic north offset.

BTW, the 1960D-1DO-001 designation was created by the first responder, coppercoins- he literally wrote the book on Lincoln die varieties.

Edit: now I see you called it a "1962-DDO-001" and I am just completely confused as to what you are trying to do A particular doubled die is unique to one die from one mint from one year, you can only compare yours to another 1960D and nothing else. Your coin does have a minor RPM but 1960 was a prolific year for RPMs with in excess of 100 known, some major but most are minor.

joe finds,
You will notice "a lot" of the '60 LMC will have this double looking face of Lincoln, not collectible though.

The doubled profiles on cents of the 60s is a result of worn hubs being used as well as worn dies being used to strike the coins. It is extremely common and considered normal. Lincoln Cents look worse and worse as the progression of deterioration of the hubs can be seen as you move through the 60s. Eventually in 1969 new master hubs and dies were made so in 1969, the obverses, at least looked remarkably better and crisper.

Thanks,
Bill

I agree with coop. I'm slowly learning what to look for, just by asking people what it is I'm looking at!

Also when you read the forums, look at the first post or first images by the original poster. (OP) don't scroll down until you figure out what it is. Then read other posts to see what others think. Some may agree, others may have a different solution. Eventually the real answer will be posted. By doing it this way you can see the logic and add that to your own educational library behind your eyes.
