The 1863 Indian cent (remember to note the denomination) is shifted to the right, yours is left.

As far as a DDR, I am not sure, it could be MD.

Very deceiving.

I don't know what the genuine DDR should look like, but the flat, shelf-like appearance of the doubled features on this coin suggests Machine Doubling. James Longacre's designs (including IHC's) are so notorious for this phenomenon that it is referred to as Longacre doubling. Anyway, that would be my guess.

The Longacre doubling that you refer to is normally on the lettering.

and when on the devices it is usually on the obverse devices.

Unusual on the reverse.

But it can show up on the reverse as well. So you can't count it out. Still this looks like MDD to me.

I agree. It looks like MDD. Just because the lateral shift, is in the same relative direction. A shot of the entire reverse would confirm.
