Hi All,
I have seen a significant decline in activity as well quality postings/activity, which perhaps is attributable to the summer months or bad economy - I compare this to the activity 12 months ago which seemed to be higher. Can any of the forum moderators/managers validate such fact?
Perhaps I am looking for additional, more specialized forums/blogs to continue feeding the knowledge related to World coins. Any references would be appreciated.

Quote: I compare this to the activity 12 months ago which seemed to be higher. Everything is much higher compared to the same month last year and in previous years. Minimum 20% higher in every category from 2008... including posts, topics, and visitors. We're experiencing now exactly what happens every year. May and June are the slowest and July starts picking back up. So, in a nutshell.... you're imagining things.

I do notice the absence of a few veteran posters. Where are Halfabustisbetter, Morgan Fred, Thingee, Snooba, Hunter20ga, 1sikevo, and Fengk? They've all been off the pages for months. I miss their input!

Also the during the summer time people are out and about. Wait till winter when lots of people are either shut in....or too chicken to get out in the cold
Bobby do you have any cool specs available to show the increases?

I usually do not do much with coins/forums through the summer months. New house and a baby keep me tied down pretty good to. I would assume alot of others are like me and stick to the hobby in winter. Its cold as heck and nothing better to do anyways.

Don't worry Zohar, I will be getting a hold of some coins from a house that was built in the late 1700's and whose owner said he is going to give me a bag of coins from a safe in the basement that hasn't been opened in 40 years. Hopefully I will have some good items to post.

coins92- Wow that's awesome!
Zohar - I must admit that the World coin forums have struck me as being a little less active than normal. But, as it has been stated, this is just due to the summer slowdown. Plus Zohar, you haven't posted any of your trademark museum-quality coins lately. haha

Zohar, you are the person I love and hate at the same time. The hate is because I wish I had your collection and/or the time and money to have it. And love because I love to see coins that I would never see unless they were posted here. Please keep posting these and making me want to strive to get them some day.

For what it is worth: Uou will find mosrt forumns are muixch slower than a year ago. It is due in part to the economy, and world conditions, in general. Un-employment is up, and income is down, It all adds up to little, or no activity. Dick

Just strickly speaking for me :
Summer - busy
Winter - not busy
Directly affects CCF "hang out" time.
There are plenty of people who buy zero to two coins a year, but still love to talk about coins here on the forum.......so.....to me....the "economy" doesn't play a part in that "love of coins". It's just really as simple as "taking the time out of your summer day/evening" to sit in a chair and be on the internet. When you're a "winter-time shut-in".........THAT'S the best time to "while away the time" sitting in front of a computer.

About 90% of my coin hobby activities are hanging around CCF and looking around at the coin shows. However, I might go wild at the next show and actually buy something. I might even buy more than one coin.

I just found you. But, I imagine the forum would be slow in summer. My bet is you will have a record winter.
