This happens a lot because of the planchet composition and the thickness. There wear toward the rim. Also it is were a true doubled die the digits would have doubling exactly the same in the same direction.

yep, Die Deterioration is the culprit.

Please ask a question though. Just saying "thoughts"? Is not specific. Sometimes it's easy to guess what your question might be but sometimes it takes too long to guess.
