I was just looking at one of the commemorative sets I recently acquired and noticed something strange. Has anyone heard of an error with the US Marines Uncirculated Coin and Stamp set where the stamp was placed in it's plastic compartment upside down?

It wouldn't be an error in the sense that the stamp and the coin are in perfect condition with no manufacturing flaws... The coin is set in a capsule that you can rotate to re-align the coin if it moves. The stamp is in a rectangular plastic blister that is sealed between the two layers of chipboard when the set is manufactured. Whoever put it together didn't get the stamp right side up before they sealed it. It's permanently that way unless you tear the set apart to get the stamp out of it....

Wouldn't that constitute as an assembly error?

I would say that is an error on the side of the worker, but do not believe it to add any value, just Frustration
