I saw this coin in a coin magazine and then on the internet and really find it to be a very nice looking coin. Anybody else feel this way ? I think it will be one of my next purchases. Just trying to look around now to see what would be the cheapest way to buy it....(shipping,conversion etc..) Moved to British Coins forum - Sap

I just got some of these in in the mail on friday.
Beautiful coins. I use to only have the silver american eagles. But then the MEX libertads stole the show, and now these are just AMAZING.

Nice pics. When you get the whole series of 13 together they make a great display

Beautiful coins! I do have a question about this series. Is there always a new reverse deisign every year or does it stay the same? What size black ringed air-tite will this fit?

they switch every other year, on the even years it is the standing Britannia design like this The Chariot design (like the 2009 above) has been used a few times as well

Those are some nice pics. Mines a 2009 and its a repeat of the 1997 chariot design. I read that even though its a repeat of the design, its the first time it is paired with the portrait of Elizabeth II.
I have been trying to find information about the 2007 Britannia's. I heard there was a defect with the minting on those and so now they are making remakes of them and sending to distributors that got defective batches.
Any info on that?

Quote: I read that even though its a repeat of the design, its the first time it is paired with the portrait of Elizabeth II. where ever you read that they were wrong, the 1999 was also a Chariot design and had the portrait of Elizabeth II. It is probably going to be a design for every 10 years starting with 1999 (example 1999,2009,2019 and so on) here is a quick scan of my 1999

Which one did you order?
I have purchased the last 3 uncirculated ones.

I'd like to get one of these at some point before the year is out. The pickings on ebay for this are slim and a little too much on the high price side.

well if you buy from the mint with shipping they are close to 90 bucks for the proof version, I bought the Uncirculated when they first came out this year and it was a little pricey. It looks good when you see the price until you convert EUR into Dollars then it looks awful high

I think the price is expensive even if you are paying in British pounds and live in the UK which is why I just purchase the bullion one.
