I thought I'd post a pic of a cool IHC variety that often gets overlooked. This is the 1887 DDO (Snow-1), and I've found a few on ebay and in dealer's "bargain bins". The serif separation on the E and C in AMERICA are pretty dramatic. Happy hunting!

kurt, I was not surprided. it means a lot, to know the equipment, "cheapo", or otherwise. I woi=uld bet, and give odds, that you "programmed the settings, so among other things, the white balance was covered, properly. my A590 IS had 4.0 optical power, and 8 MOP, but a very inexpwerienced operator. I use "Auto". It gets the large shots very well, but don't consider "shooting" a coin. Or at least niot wiothout includui=ing the 'scope, as well. Dick

Dick, This is a 10 megapixel camera, and I use max resolution and get as close as I can. The original size of the cropped image above is 1900 x 1000 pixels.

Kurt, I suspected that would be your answer. I have been using small sized images. My canera is 10 MP, and has 4X optical. I'll" go big", and see what comes out. Thanks for the info. Dick
