I purchased this on a online auction just because its an unusual piece. The auction company had no idea what it is. I am not sure what this is or represents or the approx age, and its beyond me why anyone would do this as a hoax as common sense says there is not a lot to gain.

It appears to be made of bronze and in my view the figures look like 3 warriors with shields marching, on the other hand could be 3 pregnant women going for a stroll. The stick like figures look like they are hand punched into the token.

Size is 26 mm, thickness is 1.5 mm and weight is 5.8 grams. The 3 figures although similar all have little differences such as the feet are not all the same size or shape, the shields differ slightly, the legs have differences.

Any help, thoughts, opinions and suggestions on what this is or could be is appreciated. Thank you......

I'd have called them drummers - guys walking carrying those big shoulder-strapped bass drums.

No, I don't know what happened to his hands.

I'm gonna take a complete shot in the dark at this too.

Have you considered the figures to be modeled after Scandinavian warrior petroglyphs?

The 'shield' part is what made me think of this, because of the dot in the middle of the shields. The dot would be the boss of the shield. The boss is the metal bit in the center.

This guy on the right (with no hands), in the image below definitely made me think of your piece.

Again.. it's just a complete shot in the dark. Maybe it'll give you a new direction to research.

Uhhhh.. We think alike as that was my very first thought also about warriors with shields as mentioned in my post..

Great suggestion as this is one area I did not consider but will surely research.. as the petroglyphs you posted look some what similar to the figures on the token..

Your post is greatly appreciated and with a lot of luck I just may find the answer..

Excellent turtle. Some of you here have the strangest imaginations (thank goodness).

On the original query, I seem to think it featured earlier somewhere on the site but can't for the life of me remember where. Ah maybe the original poster managed to sell it!
