at the top of the 8 it has this extra loop that fills in the hole of the top part of the 8 can you help me if it has any numismatic value?

sounds like a Cud but its hard to tell can you post pictures either scan or photo

A Cud will always touch the edge of the design. That's part of the definition of a Cud. This piece sounds like a small die chip.

There is master die doubling on many 1958 cents that shows as a partial extra upper curve on the top-left area of the 8. Sometimes it is well defined and other times it looks more like a small blob. No premium value, they are extremely common.

Impossible to tell from that image, but from the bright shine left by the 8 in the photo it could be coin damage.
