I just picked up these two, I was really after the 1904 but the price was good for both. I know the pics are not the best but what do you think? Thanks. Image: d2_1.jpg29.38 KB Image: ag_1.jpg33.54 KB

I'll go VF30-ish on the '04, F12 on the '80.

Without looking at the other responses (it's a mean of testing myself without being influenced by others, especially that New Mexican who's building pedestals where I don't belong ), I'd say VF-20 to VF-25 for the 1904, but I suspect it might have been cleaned as evidenced by the black gunk inside and around the letters and numbers. The 1880S might be F-12, but I don't think it would make it up to F-15. Too much wear in Liberty's hair althought the wear on the Eagle's wings might be at the F-15 or even VF-20; however, the reverse doesn't count anywhere near as much as the obverse. Now to look to see what everyone else said. Hey Rick! When you gonna drop one state westward and come visit? I'm in Prescott right now and the weather is great! Fred

Dave, I think that -30 is just a tad too generous, at least for a Morgan graded by PCGS; NGC or ANACS might be a little more liberal. Just a little too much wear in Liberty's hair; my own PCGS VF-30 (93CC Morgan) has a little more more hair detail than this '04 and I think if mine were to be resubmitted to PCGS, they'd downgrade it as has been their trend in the past year. But, we're generally in agreement. Of course, if we sent them to SGS, they'd come back MS-67 Fred

I would say vf20 maybe a scotch more, kind of looks like an old clean job has been done on it the fields are grainy white compared to the rims and devices and the second one ehhh Fine 12 though it looks more natural but a lillte green color comming of it any morgan is a nice morgan as long as the price is right

I'd just gotten done with a long day - went to go watch the kid in the VICA Championships - and I think I was in PCI mode. :)

I LOVE that response! Gotta love this forum for its sense of humor. I hope your kid (son or daughter?) did you proud in the VICA Championships. (BTW, what is VICA? Best I can come up with is Virgin Islands Coin Association, but somehow I don't think it's that. ) Fred
