'gotta love this - what makes this "Sunset" is the "C" in cent and the wreath both from the reverse...i have seen a few of these this was the first Indian struck in bronze earlier where copper/nickle which was a harder mix..... this was a strong version....

This doesn't look like a strike thru to me. It looks like clashed dies.

it looks like a clash of the reverse wreath to the obverse field. This is pretty common on IHCs, but yours is stronger than most.

Very nice. I always like when the letters are involved in a die clash.

COOP, You have done it again, just beautiful, as usual, Mike...PS: Is there an "L" on the ribbon on this coin?1864 with L?

Looks like a CuNi cent to me - not the bronze 'L' style. Anyway, it has a rounded bust-end...the 'L' version has a pointed bust-end.

The pic is of a first year bronze. Not a "L". Three 1864's where produced that year. 1- The last of the copper nickels 2- The first bronze w/rounded bust(as pictured with the heavy die clash) 3- The pointed bust "L' was allowed towards the end of the year.
