I shipped an item to a buyer and accidently shipped a second item to the same buyer that should have gone to another buyer.

The first buyer - the one who is now in possession of both items is refusing to answer my emails.

Feedback has already been left - positive - on both sides -
this was found out after feedback occured-

Do I have any other recourse other than to refund the second buyers money?

(Isn't honesty a wonderful thing?)

Hmm... My guess would be unless you could prove both pacakges have been delivered, there is not much you could do.
It is possible that the item was lost in the mail and never received. Unlikely, but it has happened.

Just my thinking.
That is a bummer though.

Richard!!-Shame on you--Will you send me 2 of the same thing IF I buy something from ya?LOL

My advice, seriously, The 2nd person has no fault with your error, that person should either receive what they purchased and/or they should receive a refund with a story of what happened, THEN, they should promptly leave you a negative if it was done on ebay for not delivering product won--Double-Shipped

HMMM NONONO, that is not I what meant---yes you did--NONO I did NOT--LEAVE NO NEG---GRRRRRR--YOU CANNOT LEAVE A NEGATIVE CAUSE I SENT ANOTHER DUDE THE OTHER GUYS STUFF--YEA YEA u messed up---NONO I ADMMIT MY BOO-BOO I'LL MAKE IT RIGHT--YEA YEA--
Double-Shipped

Mistake made on ebay hurt either via feedback or through the wallet.

Rg if it is a expensive item, get ebay involved to help you resolve and maybe a offer to the 1st buyer to return the item eg: $5 reward or something.

If not expensive....as the old saying goes, Live and learn.

If he admits getting the second coin as you say, what's holding him back. Maybe you should remind him that by not sending the coin back he is being dishonest and you will hence put him on your blocked bidders list and advise other coin sellers to do the same?

He may have forgotten that he has promised to send it back, sometimes just a gentle reminder might jog him into action.

Hope it works out.

Say Richard, I'm looking for an MS grade 1879CC Morgan. It's OK if you send two.

Seriously (well, as seriously as I can get this rainy evening in the middle of the Arizona desert), it's very easy to mix up shipments if multiple auctions end on the same day and multiple parcels are to be sent out at the same time. At the end of a long evening after I've packaged up a number of items and I'm tired, I have been known to spend another couple hours unwrapping the same packages to make sure I got the right item to the right person. It's even worse after I've sent them and start thinking that I might have made a mistake; then, the only thing I can do is wait for the Delivery Confirmation info and feedback to come in. My packaging system is not foolproof because I haven't got enough room to keep items separated from each other. I suppose the only thing which has kept me from shipping the wrong item to the wrong person so far is the agony I put myself through trying to avoid such an occurrence. One of these days, it's bound to happen...

Fred
