Are all the reverse proofs only on the 2006-P silver eagle ?
Has there been any 06 or other year W's found with the reverse
proof ?

In the US series the reverse proof only comes on the 2006 ASE. (So far) Reverse proofs can be found on other world coins though.

Well, actually there's a 2006 reverse proof 1 oz. gold eagle, and a 2007 reverse proof 1/2 oz. platinum eagle.

The best looking reverse proof coins in my opinion are the Britannia coins of Great Britain.

All of the US reverse proof coins can be found in either the gold and silver Eagle 20th anniversary sets or the platinum Eagle 10th anniversary set.

Thanks all for the info. Were these dies originally from west point
and then got mixed up with P or vice versa ?
Was it the hub ?

I think you are confusing the 2006 reverse proofs with the 2008W/2007 reverse Silver Eagles. The reverse proofs were meant to be reverse proofs, nothing accidental at all about them as they were special pieces minted specifically for the anniversary sets. They are the opposite of regular proofs- polished devices with frosted fields.

2008 marked some new hub changes for the Silver Eagle, the serifs of lettering were altered and the size of the stars was altered as well. A few 2007 reverses were used in conjunction with the new 2008 obverse and voila- you have a mule with an estimated maximum mintage of 47,000.

A very sweet mule at that, I have not checked lately on the price for a 2008/2007 reverse, I hope it is still climbing...People who received this coin from the mint were very lucky, also paying cost for the "mule" was probably an even better feeling...

Hi

Yes, I am familiar with the 2008W/2007 reverse Silver Eagles
as I have looked for them myself. I did mean the reverse proofs
and now I see that the dies were made just for them and it was not
a variety mistake on other coins.
