To call them gold coins is a stretch of the immagination. Just look at the manufacturer and that should tell you it's a phoney. I've had chocolate wrapped with gold paper that had more actual "gold" than these things do.

I looked through this seller's feedback and read through some of his auctions. It seems to me that he has described each item clearly and is not trying to mislead. The problem is that many people don't read an auction all the way through. They look at the price, look at the pictures, occasionally check s/h, and then they bid. This seller's most recent negative was completely undeserved as he stated that the item was a steel cent made to appear copper. The second most recent was a little more understandable as it was for a replica bank note that was described as "intaglio", without the word "replica". Though a little poking around could have cleared up that misunderstanding. In both of these auctions, the seller stated he was offering these items as an option for people who couldn't afford the genuine item.

Susan is correct. Even when a seller or dealer does everything correct, people still fail to hold up their end of the deal. They don't read what is offered. I have seen many items like these and they have a purpose, although I think that his price is a bit much.
If anyone wants quality reproductions look to the gallery mint. Pay the extra money and get a good replica.

ND and Susan, I thought the auction was pretty clear. Just to be on the safe side I browsed his ebay store and read his feedback. Seemed to be on the up and up. That's why I posted the link to his store for others to see!! Mike

You know when I posted this I NEVER thought anyone would actually think these were genuine by any stretch for the following reasons: 1) there is a group of them next to a PENNY.2) the auction says they are made of "gilded" silver3) they were listed at $14.95I just thought it was a cute item. and if there was a way to get that many "genuine gold " coins for $14.95 ..sign me up !!!! I didn't mean to stir up such a hornets nest..

Grovey, you did not miss anything. There were some other posts in the last few weeks presented in a similar manner questioning the authenticity of some items up for auction, hence the unusual answers to what you were thinking was kind of funny! I agree it is quite a funny way to buy lots of "little gold" Mike

Grovey,
There are some people who believe that the Sac dollars are gold. So it doesn't surprise me that some would consider these little tokens as gold. Unfortunately people as a whole are not the brightest in the world, and they tend to believe what they are told. Creative dealers and sellers take advantage of these people, and the cycle of life continues.
